Don’t you love a stationery delivery? I couldn’t wait to get home yesterday to check if my delivery from cultpens.co.uk<\/a> had arrived. I was actually expecting it on Thursday but it didn’t arrive (some washi tape did however!). So I got home to find the postman had left the package in our bin cupboard so I didn’t need to pick it up at the depot. Then I had to WAIT while we went to pick up some take away and drinks, then get home and eat. Finally I was able to gleefully tear open the package and look at my goodies!<\/p>\n

I had ordered:
\nDiamine – Syrah ink 80ml
\nDiamine – Merlot ink 30ml
\nDiamine – Damson ink 30ml
\nPilot Penmanship, extra fine fountain pen
\nPilot CON-50 Piston Converter
\n2 x Leuchtturm1917 Pen Loop<\/p>\n

The Pilot Penmanship, Extra Fine<\/strong><\/h4>\n

This nib is exceptionally fine! I love fine nibs but there is a certain sacrifice of smoothness. I’m not sure if that’s due to this being a cheaper pen though or if that’s a standard trait of ultra fine nibs. I inked it with Diamine Syrah first but soon decided I’d\u00a0rather have that ink in my Lamy Vista, so then re-inked it with Diamine Damson. I was also a bit confused by the converter with a small loose metal bit rattling around inside, but a quick google search led me to a\u00a0Goulet Pens video<\/a> explaining it is an agitator to stop the ink sticking in the top of the chamber.<\/p>\n

Diamine Inks<\/h4>\n

The inks, oh the inks!
\nThese 3 colours are so beautiful and the rich dark shades are right up my street!<\/p>\n

I tried using a quill dipping pen to test the inks but it laid down way to much ink for these to accurately demonstrate these colours but I’ll share then anyway.<\/p>\n
